Glenn Reynolds pointed out yesterday

Glenn Reynolds pointed out yesterday that all of the victims of the Hebrew University bombing were non-Israelis, but thousands of Palestinians nevertheless celebrated joyfully. Reynolds says that “this combination of bloodthirstiness and ineptitude is characteristic.” I guess that’s right, but it’s hard to escape the conclusion that the Palestinians don’t much care whom they kill–they just enjoy killing people. I think the Palestinians have always been given too much credit for pursuing a political strategy. They do have a long-term goal (or fantasy)–killing all Jews–that is unattainable, but they don’t appear to me to have a political strategy at all. If they wanted a Palestinian state they could have had one years ago, but they preferred to commit mass murder instead. One can only hope that better elements do exist among the Palestinians, and that they can come to the fore when the Palestinian Authority is dismantled.
