The latest Belgium joke — justice for Sharon, not Saddam

Belgium, a bad joke of a country even among fellow former Western Europeans, plans to put Isreali Prime Minister Sharon on trial for the massacre of Muslim Arabs by Christian Arabs in Lebanon in 1982. However, the Belgians have been gracious enough to postpone the trial until after Sharon leaves office (no time soon from the look of things). Nissan Ratzlav-Katz reports on this farce for National Review Online. Lest anyone think that Belgium really cares about the lives of middle easterners (or at least pro-western ones), note that Belgium is in the forefront (can one really use this phrase with a straight face?) of the movement to deny the request of its NATO partner Turkey for military protection from Iraq.
