Moment of truth

Our friends at No Left Turns have directed our attention to pieces on Friday’s UN Proceedings by Fred Kaplan and David Warren: “Stalemate” (Kaplan) and “‘Rush’ to peace” (Warren).
No Left Turns also commends Secretary Powell’s extemporaneous remarks on the proceedings and on the speech of the French foreign minister in particular, a part of which the Weekly Standard has reprinted as its editorial this week: “Moment of truth.”
No Left Turns guru Peter Schramm comments on Powell’s remarks: “Powell was clearly angry (again) at the French. Churchill once said that he went into politics because he was ambitious. When asked why he stayed in politics, he replied, ‘anger.’ Powell is now a politician. Good for him, good for us.”
