Farce the first time

James Lileks’ bleat of Friday last is not to be missed: Lileks on Rather in Baghdad and the president’s speech (my precis, not his). Referring to Rather’s interview with Saddam Hussein, Lileks says: “The deference was pathetic, the questions toothless, the answers predictable. Sometimes history is farce the first time.”
