Bearskin hats

A few days back Rocket Man posted an item about the pressure on the Queen’s bodyguards to ditch their bearskin hats. Dr. T. Steven Roosevelt writes us as follows: “The British Guards regiments were awarded the bearskin hat as a battle honor following their defeat of the Guarde Imperiale of France at Waterloo. That the current British Defense Ministry would want to change the uniform for PC reasons is pathetic.” Dr. Roosevelt also refers us to a Web page devoted to The Imperial Guard and French Organization, with appropriate illustrations.
Dr. Roosevelt concludes his message with the injunction that “Saddam delendus est.” That means Dr. Roosevelt believes that we must do to Saddam Hussein what the Romans did to Carthage.
