Prowar Demonstration in Atlanta

Pro-America demonstrators filled Atlanta’s Centennial Park today for a rally in support of our troops and the Iraq war.

Prowar demonstrations tend to be smaller than antiwar demonstrations, for several obvious reasons. Being prowar isn’t a movement, it’s just the opinion held by most Americans, the large majority of whom feel no desire to march in the streets. Mainstream Americans are probably less likely than leftists, by nature, to participate in demonstrations. And the prowar side lacks the financial backing and organizational muscle of the anti-American forces. But I, for one, would like to see patriotic Americans take back the streets from the left. In the Florida re-re-recount in 2000, for the first time there were angry Republicans in the streets. I hope that was a precursor of things to come.
