Sonny Rollins at 72

Yesterday’s St. Paul Pioneer Press carried this interesting but overly brief wire service profile by Tom Moon of tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins at 72: “At 72, Rollins still the gold standard in jazz.” Let’s supplement Moon’s profile with his review of Rollins’ performance in Philadelphia on March 7: “Rollins takes his time in setting his hooks.”
