Saddam Said Wounded; Basra Falls; Troops Near Baghdad

Today’s Telegraph has a good account of the current status of the war. Tony Blair was told yesterday that Saddam was injured badly enough in Wednesday’s attack to require a blood transfusion, but is alive and not critically injured. Reports also indicate that one of his sons was hurt, but it is not clear whether Qusay or Uday was involved.
Meanwhile, Basra has fallen after most of the Iraqi troops defending the city fled, and the lead elements of the 3rd Infantry Division are within 100 miles of Baghdad.
