BBC Romanticizes Communist Traitors

Observing the BBC’s bizarrely anti-British coverage of the Iraq war, many people have wondered how it is that a state-funded and presumably state-run news network can be so hostile to the country it is intended to serve. Whether this is really such a paradox is not so clear. In America, our most consistently anti-administration news network is PBS. Moreover, the government subsidizes any number of “artists” who ridicule America, and it would be considered absurd for an artist receiving support from the National Endowment for the Arts to create patriotic art.
But the BBC is apparently about to set a new standard for biting the hand that feeds it. The Sun reports on the BBC’s upcoming series “Cambridge Spies,” which presents the notorious Kim Philby, Guy Burgess, Donald Maclean and Anthony Blunt in a positive, romanticized light.
