Iraqi Spokesman Believed Dead

Iranian newspapers are reporting that Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, televised spokesman for Saddam’s regime during the war, hanged himself after the fall of Baghdad. Sometimes referred to as “Comical Ali,” al-Sahaf was widely ridiculed for his optimistic reports on the war, right up to the moment when gunfire could be heard off-camera.
