Powell In Damascus

I like Reuters’ delicate description of Secretary of State Colin Powell’s departure for Syria:
“Powell left for Damascus on May 2 to advise Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to consider ending his support for Middle East guerrilla groups in the light of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.” I suspect that Assad may indeed “consider ending his support” for terrorist groups. Reuters, of course, never says “terrorist.”
