The theology of mass murder

The spring issue of the Middel East Quarterly includes Haim Malka’s long article summarizing the current Islamic theological debate over “martyrdom operations” against Israelis and Americans. According to Malka, “It is important to acknowledge that a debate is underway. It is also crucial to recognize that those who sanction attacks against Israeli civilians seem to be winning it.” The article is “Must innocents die? The Islamic debate over suicide attacks.”
