Protests in Iran Continue

Protests in Tehran have continued into a second day, and parts of the city have been brought to a standstill. The protests are mainly organized by students; they have been encouraged by as many as a dozen Persian-language satellite television stations that are funded by the U.S. This Reuters article has more on the role of the U.S.-supported stations.
In the photo below, Iranian riot police are blocking off a street leading to the University of Tehran to prevent more students from joining in the demonstration.
