Since joining the Power Line crew,

I’ve been arguing that today’s liberals are less scrupulous than today’s conservatives, and trying to explain how this came to be. My best effort in this regard is probably this piece that appeared in FrontPageMagazine. I am well aware, though, that liberals believe with the same intensity that they are the ones with scruples, and that it these very scruples that are keeping them out of power. In this piece from National Review Online, Ramesh Porrunu summarizes the liberal’s case to this effect, as presented by James Traub in the New York Times Magazine. Porrunu then proceeds to explode it.
