Iraqi Who Allegedly Met With Atta Apprehended

Iraqi intelligence agent Ahmad Khalil Ibrahim Samir Ani has been captured. The potential significance of his capture lies in the fact that Czech intelligence sources have said that he met with Mohammed Atta, ringleader of the September 11 attacks, in Prague earlier in 2001. Ani’s alleged meeting with Atta is one of the more tangible links between Iraq and the terrorist attacks, but American officials say it is not clear that Ani was in Prague at the time of the alleged meeting. Still, it will be interesting to find out what he knows.
