Speaking of California

The line now being peddled by the mainstream media is that California’s recall election is an undemocratic (huh?) carnival which should be scorned by all right-thinking people. The anti-Semitic cartoonist Tony Auth offers a wonderfully comic version of the theme in this cartoon:

Auth apparently isn’t clear on the difference between a recall and a referendum, but never mind–the image of the poor defenseless government being beaten up on by a crude, club-wielding Neanderthal–i.e., the voters–says it all.
