The World Trade Organization is meeting in Cancun, and wherever the WTO goes, “protesters” follow. News coverage of “protests” is generally bathed in 60’s VietNam nostalgia, as though the protesters were idealistic flower children. But check out the photo below. These aren’t protesters, they’re thugs who used clubs and iron bars to attack policemen.
It’s time for the news media to get over the romance of “protest” and describe these people as the vicious street criminals they are.
