Augie March at 50

Saul Bellow found his voice and tapped a new vein in American literature when he wrote The Adventures of Augie March. The book was published in 1953 and has remained in print ever since, but the publisher has marked the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary with a new edition. Jonathan Yardley takes the book’s measure in tomorrow’s Washington Post Book World.
