Plameout

On the one hand, the bigfoot media have taken no interest in the genuine scandal revealed by the leaked Judiciary Committee memos reflecting the Democrats’ marching orders from their special interest masters. Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal featured Melanie Kirkpatrick’s aptly named “Sound of silence” on the media’s nonfeasance.

On the other hand, the media blew a gasket attempting to turn the allegations of Saudi bagman Joseph Wilson regarding the Bush administration’s allegedly illegal disclosure of the identity of his CIA agent wife into Watergate. Now Wilson and his wife have posed for Vanity Fair in the photo above, and Slate has given Wilson its Whopper of the Week award: “Say goodbye to Plamegate.”
HINDROCKET adds: Joe Wilson, expressing outrage that her identity as a top-secret undercover operative–known only to those who attend D.C. dinner parties–had been blown, said that “she would rather chop off her right arm than say anything to the press and she will not allow herself to be photographed.” That was then, this is now. He’s had his fifteen minutes of fame denouncing President Bush; now they’re trying to sell books. This is what passes for integrity on the left.
