Gaffe overload

Hugh Hewitt wonders in his Weekly Standard column whether anyone is paying attention to the nutty statements the Democratic presidential hopefuls are uttering with such frequency. He finds the Dems “gaffe proof” and speculates that maybe “there are just too many gaffes for any of them to stand out.”
I suspect that it may actually be a case of too many gaffes to digest at any one time. Dean may not be paying a price for any one gaffe, but he does seem to be suffering because of his overall recklessnes. But why is Clark, who’s probably just as reckless, surging? My guess is that the media can (or prefers to) only focus on one melt-down at a time, and that Clark will pay a price later, if he still matters later.
