The mosque today, the university tomorrow

In the Talking Heads’ song “Burning Down the House,” David Byrne sings about “shakedown dreams walking in broad daylight.” That song comes to mind reading this mind-boggling expose of Chicago’s Bridgeview mosque from last week’s Chicago Tribune: “Hard-liners won battle for Bridgeview mosque.”
On a related note, today’s FrontPage has an excellent lineup of columns on the recent talk by Daniel Pipes at UC Berkeley. The lead item is Cinnamon Stillwell’s profoundly disturbing “Fascism at Berkeley.”
