We have commented twice on Bob Dylan’s somewhat surprising commercial alliance with Victoria’s Secret. The Trunk, one of the world’s leading experts on American popular music, focused on Dylan’s musicality and the mystery of why he would lend his prestige to an underwear company. My own post on the subject was perhaps less noble, focusing more, as it did, on the Victoria’s Secret side of the alliance.
Now, we have an update. The commercial that Dylan filmed for Victoria’s Secret is available here; it features his song “Love Sick,” which is way too recent for me to have any knowledge of. Having viewed the ad, I can’t shed any more light on Dylan’s motives, except to note that this is the model with whom he appears–and, no, I can’t account for the angel wings:
Which, given that Dylan is now 62, is probably explanation enough.
