The Butler Report mentioned by Rocket Man below also found that Tony Blair did not lie to, or attempt to mislead, the public about the situation in Iraq. The fault was with the intelligence presented to him, according to the report.
Butler made a point that we have also made in discussing charges that President Bush lied — it would have been insane to falsely claim that WMD existed to justify a war that would reveal their absence. The point is obvious but seldom made, at least on this side of the pond.
