An honest broker

From Michelle Malkin I learn that Booknotes, Brian Lamb’s excellent program, is being cancelled. This is most unfortunate. Booknotes is the only show I know of (other than the Northern Alliance radio program) where authors can discuss their works in depth. Moreover, Lamb, to my knowledge, was always fair and respectful to his guests regardless of their ideology. And, as Michelle notes, he consistently asked thoughtful questions that strongly suggested he had carefully read the books in question. Of course his timing was sometimes a bit odd as in:
Author — I have concluded that western civilization is crumbling as a result of the problems described in my book.
Lamb — Where did you go to college?
