There Oughta Be a Law?

We and many others have often said that a fundamental difference between the Bush admimistration’s approach to terrorism and that of past administrations is that, post-September 11, President Bush recognizes that we are in a war, not in a cops-and-robbers game. We doubt whether John Kerry, and most leading Democrats, share that understanding.
The difference between the two sets of assumptions was in stark relief in a New York courtroom today. The New York Post reports:

A blind terrorist sheik was able to issue an order to his militant Islamic followers from prison
