Explaining the obvious

I doubt that OBL is alive, but if he is I’m pretty sure I have a handle on his desired outcome in the presidential election on November 2. You don’t have to be a Rocket Man to figure it out. Nevertheless, it helps to be smart even when explaining the obvious. Charles Krauthammer provides a great example in his Washington Post column this morning: “Terrorists’ candidates?” Here’s Krauthammer’s concluding paragraph:

It is perfectly true, as Bush critics constantly point out, that many millions around the world — from Jacques Chirac to the Arab street — dislike Bush and want to see him defeated. It is ridiculous to pretend that bin Laden, Zarqawi and the other barbarians are not among them.
