The Clark County spirit

It appears that the citizens of Great Britain have once again provoked the spirit of independence so lacking in the likes of Messrs. Carter and Kerry: “British intervention in poll backfires.” Don’t miss this one.
Jimmy Carter, coincidentally, reminds me of the evil son depicted in the Passover service celebrating the passage of the Jewish people from slavery to freedom. During the service the evil son asks:

“Of what purpose is this service to you?” To you (he said), (implying) and not to himself.

We are instructed regarding the evil son:

Because he took himself out of the community, he has denied the basic principles. Therefore, you should strike his teeth and tell him, “Because of this, G-d did this for me during my departure from Egypt.” For me, and not for him. Because if he was there, he would not have been redeemed.
