No way to treat a first lady

Christopher Buckley is a satirist who refuses to be discouraged by the increasing difficulty of outstripping the absurdities thrown up by the daily news. In his 2003 novel No Way to Treat A First Lady he combined elements of the O.J. trial and the Clinton marriage. For his efforts he has been rewarded with the ninth annual Thurber Prize: “Author Buckley wins Thurber Prize for American humor.”
Prize judge Andrew Hudgins said in a statement: “I read it quickly, compulsive with delight, pulled through by the wit and invention of the satire, amazed at the wealth of detail.” I need a laugh so badly, I’ll not only be picking up a copy of the book in the morning, I’ll be checking out the other finalists for the prize this year (click here).
