Ukrainian Supreme Court Orders New Election

The Supreme Court of Ukraine has ruled last month’s election invalid, and has directed that a new election between Yanukovych and Yushchenko be held on Dec. 26. The Associated Press reports here. Note that the Court’s order requires a rerun of the prior election, and does not allow substitution of a new candidate for Yanukovych, which President Kuchma may have had in mind.
