Educating the department

La Shawn Barber’s Corner addresses the payor end of the government’s unsavory monetary relationship with Armstrong Williams: “Covert propaganda, war, journalists, etc.” The heading of La Shawn’s post reminds me of Dwight Yoakam’s “Guitars, Cadillacs, etc.”:

Another lesson ’bout a naive fool
Who came to Babylon
And found out that the pie
Don’t taste so sweet.

Although the “naive” part may be unduly generous, it’s a lesson that has unfortunately wide applicability.
