A tribute to James Lileks

I’ve been mystified for some time by the lack of national recognition afforded our Northern Alliance colleague James Lileks. With Rob Long and P.J. O’Rourke, he’s among the the finest humorists in the business of writing for a living. If there is any justice in the world, today’s Washington Post article by Annie Groer may be the start of something big for him: “Ugly is as ugly was.” (Thanks to Hugh Hewitt.)
HINDROCKET adds: It’s a funny article, about what I’m sure is a funny book: Interior Desecrations: Hideous Homes From the Horrible ’70s. This paragraph made me laugh out loud:

The worst living room may be the paisley travesty in which walls, curtains and sofa meld in seamless fey camouflage: “Surrounded and outgunned, the lamp and pillow” — both inexplicably sky blue — “held out as long as they could.”
