Green dreams

Just across the river from Dartmouth College and south a few miles down the highway lies White River Junction, Vermont, home of the the Valley News. Today’s Valley News carries an excellent article on the candidacies of Dartmouth alums Peter Robinson and Todd Zywicki for the Dartmouth Board of Trustees: “Two outsiders seek seats on the Dartmouth Board of Trustees.”
Peter Robinson is the prominent Hoover Institution Fellow and former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan; Todd Zywicki is the George Mason University law professor and Volokh Conspiracy blogger (click here for his posts on his candidacy). Under the college’s somewhat arcane procedures, both Robinson and Zywicki need to gather 500 signed petitions by mid-February from alumni in order to be added to the ballot that will otherwise be limited to the “official” candidates selected by the Alumni Council. If you are an alum, please check out the linked sites of Robinson and Zywicki and download the petition forms from their sites. Let’s get these outstanding alums on the ballot for the March trustee election.
UPDATE: A reader writes to remind me that the Valley News is probably still based in West Lebanon, New Hampshire despite the fact that its contact information provides an address in White River Junction.
