New Criterion managing editor Roger Kimball reviews a best-selling book consisting of a 20-year-old essay plucked from obscurity and given a title that sells books by the gurus at Princeton University Press: “On academic celebrity.” Kimball gracefully juggles praise, blame, criticism and analysis in this wonderful review.
