Karl Zinsmeister reports

Karl Zinsmeister is the editor of The American Enterprise magazine — one of our favorites. On Karl’s invitation we contributed “Broad ownership needs broad taxpaying” to TAE’s March issue.
Karl has just returned from his third stint as an embedded reporter in Iraq. Among other things, his take on the progress of the war differentiates him from his journalistic colleagues: “The war is over, and we won.” Last night at Macalester College (see below), for example, Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Phillips drew the contrary conclusion based on his most recent stint with Lima Company, Third Battalion, Seventh Marines. (Phillips described a deteriorating security situation in western Iraq.) Karl’s column provides an important counterpoint. (Courtesy of RealClearPolitics.)
