And Now For Some Baseball Commentary

But enough about the news. Let’s talk about sports, and, in particular, the Minnesota Twins. Let’s not dwell on the fact that the Twins were overrated coming into the season, and we may as well put aside the weaknesses that three months of baseball inevitably reveal. Instead, it’s time to pay tribute to Twins reliever Jesse Crain, who got the win in tonight’s game to go 8-0 on the season, with an ERA of 1.41.
Crain is getting into Elroy Face territory. Face, for those who are younger than ourselves or whose memories are failing, helped to inaugurate the era of the relief pitcher in 1959 when he went 18-1 with an ERA of 2.70. Here he is:

The way things are going, this could be the highlight of the Twins’ season.
