A hero is recognized

On Monday the Chicago Tribune’s Kristin Scharnberg reported on the Medal of Honor awarded to Army Sgt. 1st Class Paul Smith, the first Medal of Honor recipient of the Iraq war: “Hero’s legacy: GI’s doing their job.” Don’t miss this one.
UPDATE: Joe Ebner writes:

Since you mentioned Paul Smith this morning I thought I would direct your attention to a special report of the St. Petersburg Times that goes into great detail of his heroic story: “The last full measure of devotion.” I can’t figure out how to access the report, but maybe you can.
