Hurricane Relief: Give Now!

I’m not sure who had the idea first, but a group of bloggers got together and decided to make today “Hurricane Katrina: Blog for Relief Day.” N.Z. Bear of The Truth Laid Bear has signed up an amazing 856 blogs from 12 countries to participate in this effort. So we’re urging all of our readers to do what you can to help. There are countless worthy charities who will be participating in hurricane relief; many are listed on N.Z.’s site, and Glenn Reynolds also has a long list with links.
Personally, I’ve donated to Lutheran Social Services’ hurricane relief fund, but that’s just me. There are many great charitable organizations and church groups to choose from.
I see that Wal-Mart has donated $1 million to the Salvation Army. Good choice.
UPDATE: These people are waiting for rescue on a rooftop; their message could stand for all of those needing help in New Orleans:
