Down in the flood
City Journal has posted an important column by Nicole Gelinas on events in New Orleans: "A perfect storm of lawlessness." This is a powerful piece that seems to answer some obvious questions rasised by the events. I'm not sure about all her conclusions, but this one seems inarguable: "What has happened over the past week is an embarrassment to New Orleans—and to America."
