Those of us who take advantage of the freedom of the Internet to promulgate, disseminate or consume political commentary owe a debt of gratitude to departed Federal Election Commission Chairman Brad Smith, now returned to teaching at Capital University Law School. Smith first raised the alarm about the potential FEC regulation of the Internet this past March. I followed Smith’s lead in writing about the subject in a column for the Daily Standard: “Dream palace of the goo-goos.” Today Daniel Glover writes:
