Unstoppable charity

September 16, 2005 Posted by Scott at 6:01 AM

Heather Mac Donald asks a pointed question regarding the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina:

If the government’s failure to get help instantly to Katrina victims reflects American racism, why have the images of thousands of poor, displaced blacks triggered the greatest outpouring of charity in American history?
Heather is a past master in subjecting claims of racial inequity to rational inquiry, as she has in her studies of law enforcement and alleged racial profiling. Her column on the outbreak of nonsense occasioned by Hurricane Katrina deploys relevant facts against the nonsense: "The racism charges won't wash."

On a related note, Lance reports at Red State Rant from the front lines: "Last week in Mississippi."
