It’s the Jihad, stupid

Why is it that “realists” seem not to comprehend the most basic facts regarding the war to exterminate Israel? When Secretary Rice announced the agreements to turn over control of the Rafah Crossing to the authorities in Arafatistan, she said: “[F]or the first time since 1967, Palestinians will gain control over entry and exit from their territory.” Prior to 1967, however, Gaza was under the control of Egypt, and the West Bank was under the control of Jordan.

The problem with “realism” and the “realists” in the State Department is that they’re so unrealistic. At National Review Online, Saul Singer elaborates the mythical “process” that produces anything but “peace” and has brought us the agreements that Secretary Rice celebrated earlier this week: “The Jihad obstacle to progress.”
