Who Reads Al Jazeera?

We occasionally check in on the English language, on-line version of the al-Jazeera news network. I sometimes wonder who, other than news junkies like us, reads this stuff. There’s a clue, I guess, in the poll that the site is currently running; the question is, “Are world leaders right to condemn President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s comments on Israel?” That refers to Ahmadinejad’s exhortation that Israel be “wiped off the map.” Results so far, with over 21,000 al-Jazeera readers voting:

Yes: 55%
No: 40%
Unsure: 5%

And these are the people who read al-Jazeera in English.
