A Sick Story

Gateway Pundit has one of the most infuriating stories I’ve seen in a while. Last week, three Italian soldiers were murdered by terrorists in Nassiryiah. A state funeral was held for them in Rome on Tuesday. Now, Italian media are reporting that Italian leftists collaborated with Iranian agents in arranging the murder:

The Italian intelligence heard phone conversations in which the red fundamentalists instructed the Islamists about how and when to kill our soldiers. It seems that the attack was organized in order to pressure Mr. Prodi to speed the pullout from Iraq.

Which, of course, is exactly what is happening. Meanwhile, Communists in Milan marched on May Day chanting “10, 100, 1000 more Nassiryahs!” Communists in Italy aren’t a fringe group, either; they’re part of the ruling leftist coalition.

Do you suppose leftists in Italy take offense if someone suggests they’re not very patriotic?
