It must be the shoes

Soccer superstar (and former Evertonian) Wayne Rooney has suffered a major foot injury. He is not expected to be ready for the start of the World Cup in June, but England hopes that he will be available for the Cup’s later stages, should England make it that far. Though only 20 years old, Rooney is arguably the most indispensable player in the English side. That certainly seemed to be the case in the European Championship two years. The team was not the same after Rooney limped off against Portugal.

Meanwhile, Nike is insisting that its boots “Total 90 Supremacy,” which Rooney was wearing for the first time when he sustained the injury, are not to blame.
