Meet John Witherspoon

John Witherspoon was a Scottish immigrant to the American colonies and the only divine among the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Roger Kimball rightly considers him unknown and unfairly neglected, as he explains in the review/essay featured in the New Criterion‘s June issue: “The forgotten founder: John Witherspoon.”
