One week and then what?

According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli Defense Force believes it needs one more week “to achieve its military goals in terms of alleviating Hizbullah’s capacity to threaten Israel.” So let’s assume that after another week, Hezbollah won’t be able to launch missiles at Israel for the time being. What does Israel do then, sit back and wait for Hezbollah to regroup and re-arm?

Israel’s military goal should not be to allevaite Hezbollah’s capacity to threaten Israel. Its goal should be to crush Hezbollah and ensure that it cannot return to power in southern Lebanon.
