The blame game — another look

The Washington Times finds no more merit than I did in the claims of Howard Dean, Christopher Dodd, and Jane Harman that the current war in the Middle East would have been averted if only the Democrats were in control. Notes the Times:

Some Democrats regard what’s happening between Israel and Hezbollah as an opportunity to scrub up the party’s bona fides on foreign policy. This means trying to invoke a mythical Clinton legacy and blaming everything bad on President Bush.

I doubt that Dean’s claim that “we would have worked day after day after day to make sure we didn’t get where we are today” will do much to scrub up the bona fides of the Dems. This is simply an unprincipled party that has lost its willingness to distinguish between hatred of President Bush and reality.
