No good deed goes unpunished

This Washington Times editorial gives due credit to Senator George Allen for proposing legislation that would reverse the funding cut for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center, which treats soldiers returning from Iraq. Under Allen’s proposed measure, the Center’s budget would increase. The amendment has bipartisan support and a growing list of co-sponsors.

Meanwhile, Allen’s opponent in the Virginia Senate race, James Webb, shows signs of becoming a true Harry Reid Democrat. According to the Times, his campaign has sent out e-mails criticizing Allen for “stealing” the idea from Senator Durbin.
