Sen. Graham commits to permitting a floor vote for Jim Haynes

Hugh Hewitt had Sen. Lindsey Graham on his program. Senator Graham told Hugh that he will vote to send the nomination of Jim Haynes to the Senate floor. There, Graham will vote against Haynes’ confirmation. Graham also said he does not think that Haynes’ nomination presents special circumstances that would justify a filibuster.

Without the vote of Graham and other members of the terrorist rights wing of the Republican party, it’s questionable whether Haynes will be confirmed. If he is not, I hope that President Bush will offer Haynes a recess appointment in recognition of his outstanding service to the country in extraordinarily trying times.
