Who’s on second?

Close readers of Power Line may have noticed that we have followed the race for Minnesota’s Fifth District congressional seat between Keith Ellison and Alan Fine. (That’s a joke.) We haven’t paid any attention to third-party (Independence Party) candidate Tammy Lee. In today’s Washington Times, Barry Casselman takes a look at Ms. Lee’s role in the race and asks whether there might be “a surprise in Minnesota?” On the crucial question of who is in second place behind Ellison — Fine or Lee — Barry offers only that “Tammy Lee is now widely perceived to be in second place.” Nevertheless, it’s an interesting column on a race with respect to which the Minneapolis Star Tribune has fallen down on the job.
